World Vision

The Wider World - Fundraising Mission

At Scissett Academy, we collectively sponsor a child through World Vision. Every week, we are encouraged to bring in spare pennies to help support a child in need around the world.    As a school we are now sponsoring Brian Adilu from Uganda. We learnt that £5 can feed a family for a week in Brian's village, whilst £25 can provide a water pump to give them fresh water. We hope you can help us to raise as much money for Brian as possible. We will be working hard to win the fundraising trophy in Celebration Time each week.

School Council Bake Sale to support World Vision - Spring 2025

A huge thank you to everyone who bought treats at the School Council Bake Sale on Friday last week. We raised over £100 which will go towards supporting the child we support through World Vision. We support Brian, from Uganda, by helping to provide, education, healthcare and clean water for him.
We hope you enjoyed the sweet treats that our School Councillors baked on Thursday night and a huge thank you to everyone who also donated baked goods for this fundraising event.

World Vision Update - Spring 2025

Having just received our latest update from World Vision, we would like to share this with you. As a school, we sponsor a child called Brian who lives in Uganda to help provide him and his community with clean water, healthcare and education. Every class has a "Brian Money" collection pot for children to contribute a few pennies to whenever they can and there is a bi-weekly Best Fundraising Class trophy presented in Star Worship on a Friday. Our School Council will also be holding a fundraising bake sale very soon - keep an eye out for more details!
