SMSC

Scissett CE Academy is committed to the development of the emotional and social needs of our children.  Our curriculum matches the needs of our pupils, developing the skills and attitudes needed for the wider world.

Our planning has the consistent themes of our Christian values and our British values running through it, ensuring children consider honesty, kindness, respect, love, koinonia and trust across all areas of the curriculum.

We aim to promote a quality, broad and knowledge rich curriculum with the holistic needs of our children at its heart.

Our belief that we are 'A place where all succeed' aims to build the social and emotional resilience of our children.

At Scissett CE Academy we use a scheme called Jigsaw for PSHE.  This scheme also helps to develop emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development.

Designed as a whole school approach, Jigsaw provides a detailed and comprehensive scheme of learning for ages 3-16.  Our local Middle School continues with the Jigsaw path once children leave us at the end of Year 5.  Jigsaw is a unique, spiritual, progressive and effect scheme of work, aiming to help children prepare for life, helping them really know and value who they truly are and understand themselves and others in our ever-changing world.
