We were very lucky to be hold an additional After School Club in the Autumn, Spring and Summer term this year. Jane Middleton from Art Starz wil be coming into school for four weeks to run this club.

Our Art Starz After School Club has got off to a great start tonight. The children are all busy designing their own versions of silhouettes in a desert sunset.

In the final Art Starz Club this term, the children learnt all about Picasso and his style of portrait painting.
Pablo Picasso was a famous artist who painted portraits in a unique style called Cubism. Instead of making faces look realistic, he broke them into geometric shapes like squares and triangles, often showing the front and side of a face at the same time. He used bold, unusual colors to show emotions like sadness or happiness, rather than real skin tones.

At After School Art Starz Club tonight the children have been exploring Pop Art.
Pop Art is a 1950s-1960s art movement originating in Britain and the US which revolutionised art by incorporating everyday, commercial, and popular culture imagery. Pop Art uses bright colors, bold, ironic, and repetitive designs.
Once again, the children used their imagination freely to create their own individual posters.

Our very first Art Starz Club. What a great time the children had as they produced some beautiful oil 'scratchy' artwork using oil pastels and paints.
