World book day is one of our favourite days at Scissett CE Academy! The word got out about how much we all love books and reading so we’ve had some visits from a few fictional characters… a few of them have caused a little mischief… keep your eyes peeled this week to see what they do… how many do you recognise?
On Tuesday of World Book Day Week we had visitors to school. Poor Mrs Bray has had an awful lot of first aid to do and Mrs Bennet is really hoping her new office assistants don’t hang around for too long. We have a little girl who loves reading in our reading area and someone has been practising their flying over our school in hope of winning a golden star. Can you recognise any of our visitors?
On Wednesday there has been someone very hungry in the school kitchen hunting for some food and something very wild has been happening in our woods. Year 3 are also hoping that their stand in PE teacher isn’t going to coming back any time soon
Yeah, it's finally World Book Day. It’s one of our favourite days of the year! Mr Cunningham has the giggles and things are practically perfect in every way in reception.
Happy world book day from Scissett CE Academy
Years 1 and 4 came together to celebrate World Book Day. The children met with their class share partners to read their favourite stories. Bea says she loved sharing a story with Betsy because they both love reading - as we all do at Scissett!
Book in a Box Competition
Mrs Whittle who is our Literacy Lead in school challenged the children before half term to design a book in a box to promote our love of reading at Scissett CE Academy in conjunction with World Book Day 2025,
